Business Development Account Executive - International Markets
We are looking to appoint a person whose core responsibility will be for the Business Development area of the International Groups Department of Abbey Tours for both Ireland and Scotland. In addition the position may also extend to cover support in any of the Company’s Groups and Operations Departments as the need arises.
This is a Dublin based position reporting to the Manager of the International Groups Department.
AVAILABILITY: Immediately
QUALIFICATION: Good knowledge of the Irish and Scottish tourism industry products and in particular the handling of hotel and other tourism product bookings. Good communication skills and telephone manner required, together with flexibility and adaptability in approach. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commercial focus.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written) is essential. The ability to communicate (both verbal and written) in at least one other European languages is a distinct advantage
SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programmes is desirable.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential new clients in the International Groups Market
- Active hands on role in the Business Development function for Abbey Tours Ireland and Scotland for the International Groups Department. This will involve the preparation and costing of proposed client group and series programmes and dealing with the client to ensure their subsequent conversion to confirmed business.
- Full utilisation of the Tourplan system to generate all client quotations and subsequent follow up, also ensuring that the confirmed proposal is accurately reflected in Tourplan
- Any agreed sales and marketing activities, either in Ireland or in the overseas market place. This could take the form of either desk based activities or direct agent/client interaction.
- The position may also extend to cover support in any of the Company’s Groups and Operations Departments as the need arises.
- Supervision of any staff/trainees assigned to the area.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time by your Manager or Director (and this could be in another Department within Abbey Tours Dublin).

CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE, FRENCH-SPEAKING GROUPS MARKET
We are looking to appoint a person whose core responsibility will be for the Account Handling/Customer Care area of the French Speaking Groups Department of Abbey Tours for both Ireland and Scotland. In addition the position may also extend to cover support in any of the Company’s Groups and Operations Departments as the need arises.
This is a Dublin based position reporting to the Senior Account Executive of the French Speaking Groups Department.
AVAILABILITY: Immediately
QUALIFICATION: Good knowledge of the Irish and Scottish tourism industry products and in particular the handling of hotel and other tourism product bookings. Good communication skills and telephone manner required, together with flexibility and adaptability in approach. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commercial focus.

- The Account Handling/Customer Services function for Ireland and Scotland for the French Speaking Groups Department – key to this is to ensure that client group operations requirements for the department operate smoothly and in a timely fashion.
- Responsibility for operating the Department’s 24 hour emergency phone numbers on a rotational basis; shared with other - Customer Care staff members from the French Speaking Groups Department.
- The position may also extend to cover support in any of the Company’s Groups and Operations Departments as the need arises.
- Full utilisation of the Tourplan system to generate all client and supplier communications, also ensuring that the confirmed proposal is accurately reflected in Tourplan thereby facilitating a smooth and accurate accounting process.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, INCENTIVE & EVENTS DEPARTMENT
We are looking to appoint a person to be responsible for the business development and operating of corporate and business meetings, incentives and events in the Incentive and Events Department of Abbey Tours for both Ireland and Scotland.
This is a Dublin based position reporting to the Manager of the Incentive and Events Department

QUALIFICATION: Good knowledge of the Irish & Scottish tourism industry and in particular the developing and operating of corporate and incentive programmes. Good communication skills and telephone manner required, together with flexibility and adaptability in approach. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong commercial focus.

- Preparation and presentation of proposed client programmes for Business Meetings, Incentives and Events – this also includes liaising with the client to ensure that the business is won for Abbey Incentive & Events
- Development of the costing models for confirmed programmes, including, where appropriate, securing supplier services for the programme and the negotiation of rates for those services
- Lead client site inspection trips and where appropriate represent Abbey Conference & Corporate on company led familiarisation visits
- Operating confirmed programmes including communicating with the overseas client and product suppliers – this could also include on site work during the operation of client programmes
- Any agreed sales and marketing activities, either in Ireland or in the overseas market place

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, FIT / ONLINE DEPARTMENT
We are looking to appoint a person to be responsible for the business development and operating of the International Market business within the FIT / Online Department of Abbey Tours for both Ireland and Scotland.
This is a Dublin based position reporting to the Operations Manager of the FIT / Online Department, with responsibility also to the Business Development Manager of the FIT / Online Department for all business development matters.

CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- A hands on approach to developing business for both Ireland and Scotland from existing and potential clients attached to the area of responsibility. Key to this will be developing a clear understanding of the client’s needs and deadlines, offering existing and new programmes to fulfil those needs and ensuring that the client has all the necessary material and information to present this information to their clients whether in brochure or online format.
- All aspects involved in the Company’s individual travel programme development and the handling of their associated product requirements including booking hotel and other tourism product supplies where necessary.
- Dealing with overseas Tour Operator partners on bookings and also where appropriate and necessary their clients when on holiday in Ireland
- Preparation of client itineraries and their associated costings
- Preparing client documentation packs, distributing them to the agreed pick-up point and ensuring the smooth operation of the FIT booking prior to and during their stay in Ireland.
- General office duties including booking confirmations via fax and email, filing, processing reservations including the preparation of client vouchers and invoices through the Company’s reservations system (Tourplan)
- Supervision of any staff/trainees assigned to the area.

The Company works exclusively with the Travel Trade. OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE, FRENCH SPEAKING MARKETS
We are looking to appoint a person whose core responsibility will be to provide full Account Handling/Customer Services function in respect of all FIT and group bookings operating in Scotland for specific French speaking clients.
This is an Edinburgh based position reporting to the Groups and FIT Operations Manager.
SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Day to day operation of FIT and group bookings for specific nominated clients. This will include the booking and confirmation of services and liaison with the overseas tour operator
- Administration
- Client meet and greet services at Airports and other locations
- Provision of emergency backup services including a 24 hour telephone backup service

ACCOMMODATION & CONTRACTING EXECUTIVE
We are looking to appoint a person whose core responsibility will be to assist the Product Development Director with placing all hotel accommodation requirements. Key to this role will be to ensure that all accommodation requirements are placed within the agreed service level time frame, while at the same time maximising the Company’s revenue yield.
This is an Edinburgh based position reporting to the Product Development Director with very close lines of communication to many of the Dublin based staff especially FIT Department, Operations Department and Incentive & Events Department.
SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
Placement of all accommodation – Group & FIT according to buy rates or cheaper
- Manage and utilise group / FIT allocations reporting monthly to Product Development Director/Managing Director
- Place series alongside Product Development Director/Managing Director, with contribution/input from the Business Development Director (Dublin)
- The placement of FIT bookings for clients who are exclusively selling Scotland programmes
- Manage and report on the Group/FIT excel spreadsheets on the system
- Draw up contracts where needed, sign off on any returned contracts.
- Negotiate secondary hotel product requirements as directed
- Compiling hotel inspection reports and Health & Safety forms and ensuring that these are loaded into the system
- Management of supplier Extranet
- Management and processing cancellations / amendments / overbookings / waitlists
- Provision of emergency backup services including a 24 hour telephone backup service

GROUPS & FIT OPERATIONS MANAGER
We are looking to appoint a person whose core responsibility will be to assist the Product Development Director with the day-to-day running of the Operations Department within the agreed service level agreements. A core responsibility will be the ability to book services and hotels within required timeframe and budgets thus ensuring and efficient and profitable service.
This is an Edinburgh based position reporting to the Product Development Director with very close lines of communication to many of the Dublin based staff especially FIT Department, Operations Department and Incentive & Events Department.
SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Creation / checking of Scotland group itineraries
- Booking of all services, manage cancellations / amendments
- Guide Booking / contracting
- Co-ordination of group documentation / production of documentation
- Management and administration of Tattoo operations
- The management of the Customer care function for clients who are exclusively selling Scotland programmes
- Quality control with suppliers - managing / answering quality control issues that arise
- Managing trainees / staff to carry out the operations function
- Industry liaison on any quality control issues which arise with Scottish suppliers.
