Placement PeriodInternships tend to be for a period of between 6 - 12 months. We are able to offer work experience positions in Group Travel, Individual Travel, Conference & Incentive Travel, Finance and Sales & Marketing. Interns will be exposed to aspects of the business which are relevant to the Intern's degree course.

Abbey Conference & Corporate is the specialist conference division of Abbey Tours Limited, the largest privately owned incoming Tour Operator in Ireland, founded in 1978. Abbey Tours Scotland, established in 2008 and a sister company of Abbey Tours Limited, operates as an inbound tour operator into Scotland on a business to business basis. We are looking to appoint a person to a senior role within the Association Conference division of the company. This position would be ideal for a motivated, self starter with a passion for client care plus a commitment to delivering services to the highest level. This core responsibility of this appointment will be to assist in the operation of conferences and events handled by the Conference Division.

CORE DUTIES INCLUDE: · Conference / event bid production · Accommodation management · Venue management · Online registration & abstract submission · AV / catering co-ordination · Website set up / maintenance · Transport & travel management · Social Programme creation / co-ordination · Budget management · Manage funding / sponsorship / exhibition activities · Meet agreed time paths / deadlines · Attend supplier meetings · Be the key company contact with the Local organising Committee (LOC) and attend all LOC meetings. · Onsite management - be the company’s key representative on site during the operation of the conference or event. · Complete financial and credit control over the conferences handled by the company · Supervision of staff allocated to the Conference division · Maintenance and development of the Company’s Event Management computer system. This includes setting up and maintaining conferences in the system and the management of the Online Registration and Abstract Submission systems. The role also extends to intergration of external client websites to the Company’s internal system. · Any other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager or other senior manager or board member (this could be in another Department within Abbey Tours Dublin).

REQUIREMENTS: · Experience in a similar position / company · Hands on familiarity with conference management computer software · Dynamic outlook · Good team player · Excellent communications skills · Willingness to travel – mainly within Ireland but also possibly to overseas locations · Full drivers licence

COMPUTER: Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of programmes essential. Familiarity with conference software an advantage SALARY: Negotiable depending on experience |
